How Will We Feed Ourselves Around 2050?

内容简介：未来全球的粮食供给图景如何？我们人类能否应对2050年的粮食危机？有哪些因素影响了粮食的供给？历史上一些主要国家是如何应对粮食困境的？报告将以历史学视角，社会学和经济学研究方法，解读气候、人口、生产资料等要素在不同时期不同国家如何影响着粮食的供给，引导人们从历史中学到经验与教训。

报告人简介：

EDUCATION: University of Toronto: B.Comm. (1952), M.A. Econ.(1953). Oxford University: B.A. (1955), M.A. (1962). Université de Paris, Insititut d'Etudes Politiques: C.d'E.P. (1956). Also attended summer school sessions at the University of Birmingham and the Institut Collégial de Paris, and studied colloquial Arabic for a term at the American University in Cairo.

AWARDS: Various undergraduate scholarships; James Cumming Fellowship (1952); Rhodes Scholarship for Ontario (1953); Norah Whitney Fellowship (1955); John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship (1965); SSHRC Fellowship (1980); Japan Foundation Fellowship (1991-2); Visiting Fellowship, Pontifical Institute for Medieval Studies (1995-6); and a number of research grants from the Canada Council, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, the International Development Research Centre and the University of Toronto.

EMPLOYMENT: 1957-1995: Department of Economics (formerly Department of Political Economy), University of Toronto. Became Full Professor of Economics in 1969. Now Professor Emeritus.

1995-2004: Part-time teaching at the University of Toronto on medieval and early-modern European economic history, as well as comparative economic systems.
